How to file a disability claim without getting lost
Evidence first, then the form. An accredited VSO if you want someone in the chair with you.
Guides
How-tos that stay on the rails
Short sequences. Official links. No one here takes a percentage of a rating.
BDD is a calendar. Treat it like one.
180 to 90 days before ETS. Miss it and you file after you are out.
Get a GI Bill Certificate of Eligibility before the school spends a semester
The school certifies. VA pays. You need the COE in the middle.
VA home loan: Certificate of Eligibility first
The guaranty is not a pre-approval. The COE is the first official paper.
Enroll in VA health care and learn your priority group
Enrollment is a group assignment, not a membership card that means the same thing for everyone.
PACT Act: file the condition, not the hashtag
Presumptive lists change. The claim is still a diagnosis plus service plus a current problem.
HLR, Supplemental, or Board — pick one lane
New evidence is Supplemental. Same record is Higher-Level Review. The Board is later and slower.
Find an accredited representative before you pay anyone
Accreditation is a searchable public list. A Facebook “claims guy” is not the same thing.
One calendar: TAP, BDD, SkillBridge, VGLI
Separation is four clocks. Treat them as one page on the wall.
