Get a GI Bill Certificate of Eligibility before the school spends a semester

The school certifies. VA pays. You need the COE in the middle.

  1. Apply for education benefits on VA.gov. That application is how you get a Certificate of Eligibility.
  2. Compare Post-9/11 and Montgomery if you paid into Chapter 30. The school does not always know both.
  3. Hand the COE to the VA certifying official before the add/drop date.
  4. Housing stipend follows your rate of pursuit and the school’s ZIP. Changing schools mid-term burns entitlement.
