Enroll in VA health care and learn your priority group

Enrollment is a group assignment, not a membership card that means the same thing for everyone.

  1. Apply on VA.gov, by phone, or at a medical center. Keep the confirmation.
  2. Ask which priority group you are in. That group decides copays and how the queue treats you.
  3. Combat veterans have a special enrollment period after discharge — do not sleep through it.
  4. Community Care is a later conversation, after you are enrolled.
