BDD is a calendar. Treat it like one.

180 to 90 days before ETS. Miss it and you file after you are out.

  1. Put your separation date on a wall calendar and count back 180 days and 90 days. That band is the BDD window.
  2. List every condition now, while you can still walk into the military clinic.
  3. File inside the window and complete VA exams before you separate.
  4. If you are already inside 90 days, file a standard claim the day you have your DD-214 — do not wait for a mythic “perfect packet.”
