PACT Act toxic-exposure claims

Presumptive conditions from burn pits, Agent Orange, radiation, and other toxic exposures. File the condition, not the slogan.

The PACT Act expanded which conditions VA treats as presumed service-connected for certain locations and dates. It is still a claim with evidence. Read the current presumptive list on VA.gov — it has grown since 2022.

Who it is usually for.

Veterans with qualifying toxic-exposure service and a current diagnosis on the presumptive or regular path.

What to have in hand.
  • DD-214 or service dates/locations
  • Diagnosis
  • Any earlier denial letters
Moves.
  1. Check the current presumptive-condition list on VA.gov.
  2. File a new claim or a supplemental claim if you were denied before the law changed.
  3. Sit with an accredited VSO if the exposure history is messy.

Timing hint: Same claim clock as other disability claims.

Shield 2 Storm does not file this claim and does not decide eligibility. Official rules live on the page above. Use an accredited representative if you will file.
