Credit utilization calculator

Utilization is balances divided by limits on revolving accounts. It is about 30% of a typical FICO score and resets every statement cycle. Enter the numbers from your latest statements — not the due-date payoff if the statement already cut.

Revolving accounts only. Installment loans do not belong here. Numbers stay in your browser.

A single maxed card can hurt even when overall utilization looks fine. Pay the highest per-card percentages first, and pay before the statement closing date so the low balance is what the bureau sees. Full write-up: credit utilization, the number-one score lever.

Utilization will not erase a collection. If the file also has errors, use the dispute deadline calculator and the dispute guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good credit utilization ratio?

For many FICO files the strongest band is about 1–9% overall, with no single card reporting high. Under 30% is a damage floor, not the target.

Does this calculator affect my credit?

No. It only does math in your browser. It does not contact a bureau or create an inquiry.

Should I include installment loans?

No. Utilization is revolving credit — cards and lines of credit. Auto loans and mortgages are a different factor (credit mix).
