SSVF is for veterans who are homeless or about to be. A local grantee runs it. This is not a home-purchase program and not a credit product.

What to have in hand.
  • Photo ID
  • DD-214 if you have it
  • Lease or eviction notice if you have one

  2. Or find the SSVF grantee in your area on VA.gov.
  3. Bring whatever paperwork you have — do not wait for a perfect file.

Timing hint: Same-week intake is the goal; housing stock is the limiter.
